Organic vs. Natural

So my family has been talking a lot lately about diet trends and such. One thing that keeps popping up for me is the debate about buying fruits, vegetables and meats. Do we buy them from a "certified organic" source? Do we just buy them from the local grocer (that may be a chain)? Is there a difference? How big?

Let's take, for example, a head of broccoli. I can buy it at a local grocery store for a certain price. Or I can buy it "certified organic" at a "health foods" store for double or triple the price. Or, I can go the other end of the spectrum and buy a huge bag of frozen florets for about 1/2 the cost of the fresh stuff. So here is the question: what's the cost benefit? Is it worth the 2-3x cost to go organic? Is it that the regular stuff is bad for me, or just not as good?
